Ebb tidal delta
Depth of water
High tide -
Circumstances
A variety of delta, which is formed at the downstreams of ocean-side of tidal channels in barrier islands and sand spits / longshore bar. Sediments are transported from inner bay-side through tidal channels on the pulling tide, and deposit as delta at the ocean-side exits of tidal channels. As the Ebb tidal delta at the ocean-side tends to be destroyed by waves, flood tidal delta develops larger than Ebb tidal delta.
Sedimentary facies (Sediments)
Sands.
Sedimentary facies (Structures)
Stratifications gently inclined to the ocean side.
