Backshore
Depth of water
Limits of storm waves - High tide
Circumstances
Sediments supplied over the high tide by storm waves. Waves do not reach backshores during the fair weather. A lot of organic matters are associated as backshores are subjected to the strong influence by the lands.
Sedimentary facies (Sediments)
Very poorly sorted. Mud, sands and gravels. A lot of organic matters.
Sedimentary facies (Structures)
None.
