Source for manganese
Field of view: 30 mm. Rhodonite associated with quartz. The tabular pink crystals aligned vertically are rhodonite. The surrounding transparent parts are quartz. The fine grains at the bottom are rhodonite and quartz.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Hornblende-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
Rhodonite from this location was described in 1952.
