Source for manganese
Field of view: 50 mm. Massive rhodonite. The massive pink parts are rhodonite. There are large cleavage surfaces. Black parts are manganese dioxide formed by weathering oxidation.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
