Rhodonite

Field of view: 2 mm. Rhodonite associated with braunite. The transparent red grains are rhodonite. The surrounding massive black parts are braunite. The white grains are quartz.

Recovered from a bedded manganese deposit subjected to Epidote-Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granite.

Rhodonite from this location was described in 1952.
