Field of view: 60 mm. Massive rhodonite. The massive pink parts are rhodonite. The pink part at the right is aggregate of fine rhodonite crystals. The pink part at the left is a group of coarse tabular crystals exhibiting perfect cleavage. The massive grayish-green part at the right end is aggregate of fine tephroite crystals. The massive white parts are quartz, and the massive gray parts are chert.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
Rhodonite from this location was described in 1962.
