Field of view: 3 mm. Hausmannite associated with rhodochrosite. The massive brown part at the upper left is aggregate of fine hausmannite crystals. The massive pink part around hausmannite is aggregate of fine rhodochrosite crystals. The coarse pink part at the right is aggregate of tabular rhodonite crystals. The brownish-purple part at the bottom is aggregate of fine alleghanyite crystals.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
Hausmannite from this location was described in 1962.
