Source for Molybdenum
Field of view: 30 mm. Molybdenite-2H associated with quartz. The hexagonal platy silver crystals are molybdenite. The brown host is gangue quartz encrusted with limonite.
Recovered from a titanium type rare-element pegmatite associated with S-type (Ilmenite-series) granite. Formed in the late Miocene (9 Ma).
Molybdenite from this location was described in 1894.
