Source for Molybdenum

Field of view: 10 mm. Molybdenite-2H associated with quartz. The silver parts with a metallic luster are molybdenite. The white parts are gangue quartz, a vein in granite. The brown parts are limonite.
Recovered from a quartz vein in a high-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with I-type (Magnetite-series) granite, the center pluton of a caldera complex. Formed in the middle Paleocene (60 Ma).
