Field of view: 5 mm. A botryoidal group of hematite. The botryoidal black group with a strong luster is hematite. The transparent basement is prismatic crystals of gangue quartz.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with rhyolite.
Hematite from this location was described in 1952.
