Calcite
Sugiyama, Minobu city, Minami-Koma county, Yamanashi pref., Japan
Source for Quick lime and Sodium cyanide
Field of view: 30 mm. Calcite associated with prehnite. The scalenohedral transparent crystals are calcite perched on prehnite. The translucent white basement is prehnite. This calcite is fluorescnet.
Recovered from an open space of a prehnite vein in basaltic-andesitic hyaloclastite subjected to Prehnite-Pumpellyite facies metamorphism. Formed in the middle Miocene (12 Ma).
