Field of view: 10 mm. A crystal of schorl. The black prism is schorl. The surrounding opaque white parts are plagiolcase and K-feldspar.

Recovered from a pegmatite vein of S-type (Ilmenite-series) granodiorite origin traversing pelitic schist subjected to Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granodiorite. Formed in the Late Cretaceous (85 Ma).
