Field of view: 10 mm. Prehnite associated with gabbro. The transparent pale green parts exhibiting a vitreous luster are groups of tabular prehnite crystals. The surrounding opaque white parts are aggregate of fine prehnite crystals. The grayish-green part at the lower left is plagioclase of the host gabbro.
Recovered from a prehnite vein in gabbro of an accretionary complex subjected to Prehnite-Pumpellyite facies metamorphism.
