Prehnite

Field of view: 5 mm. Prehnite associated with grossular. The white spherules are prehnite. The quadrangular platy opaque white crystals at the upper left are prehnite crystals. The translucent basement is quartz.
Recovered from an open space of skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) granite associated with a caldera complex.
Prehnite from this location was described in 1966.
