Field of view: 5 mm. Brochantite in an open space of a quartz vein. The columnar groups of green acicular crystals are brochantite. The white basement is gangue quartz encrusted with pale brown limonite.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with rhyolite.
Brochantite from this location was described in 1999.
