Upper left crystal: 5 mm. Dispatched augite crystals. Short prisms.
Recovered from pyroxene andesite included in tuff breccia of Akima Formation, a volcanic product ofa terrestrial volcano. Formed in the late Miocene (6.5 Ma).
Augite from this location was described as pyroxene in 1978.
