Overview
A sedimentary system composed of a series of characteristic sedimentary facies on the seafloor of straits or seafloors where ocean currents are passing. Representative examples are Osumi Strait (Japan), Tsushima Strait (Japan), and around Izu islands. Approximately 3 % of modern seashores are oceanic current-dominated shelf.
