Source for manganese
Field of view: 5 mm. Todorokite associated with braunite and pyrolusite. The group of plumose silver-white crystals is todorokite. The fine black grains at the left are braunite. The earthy black parts with a dull luster in the interstices of braunite are pyrolusite.
Recovered from a Fe-Mn deposit by low temperature hydrothermal activity associated with andesitic pyroclastic rocks.
Todorokite from this location was described in 1970.
