Field of view: 5 mm. Earthy pyrolusite. The earthy light gray parts with a metallic luster are pyrolusite. The brown parts are the host tuff.
Recovered from a Fe-Mn deposit by low-temperature hydrothermal activity associated with andesitic pyroclastic rocks.
Pyrolusite from this location was described in 1970.
