Field of view: 30 mm. Spessartine associated with rhodonite. The fine transparent pale brown crystals are spessartine. The massive pale pink basement is aggregate of fine quartz and rhodonite crystals.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Hornblende-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
Spessartine from this location was described in 1960.
