Field of view: 10 mm. Pyrite associated with enargite. The octahedral dark yellow crystals are pyrite. The massive dark yellow basement is also pyrite. The octahedral crystals are composed of (111) faces.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a hydrothermal deposit associated with pyrophyllitization hydrothermal alteration. Formed in the late Miocene (11 Ma).
Pyrite from this location was described in 1953.
