Field of view: 20 mm. Neotocite associated with pyroxmangite. The massive opaque dark brown part is aggregate of fine neotocite crystals. The transparent red grains are pyroxmangite, and interstices of pyroxmangite grains are filled with neotocite. The white grains with a vitreous luster are quartz. The massive pale brown host is aggregate of pyroxmangite and quartz.
Recovered from a bedded manganese deposit in pelitic schist subjected to Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granodiorite.
Neotocite from this location was described in 1962.
