Nambulite

Field of view: 100 mm. Nambulite associated with braunite. The orange veins exhibiting perfect cleavage are nambulite. The pink parts around nambulite are rhodonite. The massive black host is braunite. The white veins are quartz. The nambulite is usually at the center of rhodonite vein. The appearance of nambulite is similar to spessartine and manganberzeliite but only nambulite exhibits perfect cleavage.
Recovered from a rhodonite vein in a bedded manganese deposit subjected to Epidote-Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granite.
Nambulite from this location was described in 1975.
