Field of view: 5 mm. A crust of malachite. The reniform green group is malachite. The black basement is a crust of manganese dioxide. The origin of Cu in malachite is copper and/or chalcopyrite in the ore.
Recovered from a meteoric oxidation zone of a mudstone-hosted Cu-Mn deposit subjected to Zeolite facies metamorphism. Formed in less than 50 years after the mine was closed,
