Field of view: 40 mm. Chalcopyrite associated with hedenbergite. The massive yellow parts are chalcopyrite. The dark green host is hedenbergite composed of parallel prisms elongated vertically.
Recovered from a pneumatolytic deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of S-type (ilmenite-series) granite. Formed in the Late Cretaceous (85 Ma).
Chalcopyrite from this location was described in 1902.
