Field of view: 50 mm. Massive chalcopyrite. The massive yellow parts are chalcopyrite. The surrounding white parts are gangue quartz, and there are fine prismatic crystals in open spaces.
Recovered from a quartz vein of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with rhyolite. Formed in the early Miocene (21 Ma).
Chalcopyrite from this location was described in 1917.
