Caryopilite

Field of view: 50 mm. Caryopilite associated with rhodochrosite. The translucent brown parts with a vitreous luster are aggregate of fine caryopilite crystals. The pale pink grains are rhodochrosite. Caryopilite forms a network in the interstices of rhodochrosite grains.
Recovered from a mudstone-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Zeolite facies metamorphism.
