Size of the crystal: 5 mm. Quartz pseudomorph after β-quartz. Hexagonal bipyramidal crystals are β-quartz. The opaque white tabular crystals are orthoclase.
Recovered from weathered surface of rhyolite erupted from a volcano of an island arc. Formed in the late Miocene (7 Ma).
Beta-Quartz from this location was described in 1903.
