Size of the crystal: 7 mm. Floaters of pink quartz pseudomorph after hexagonal bipyramical β. There are many cracks in the crystal.
Recovered from crystal lapilli in tuffaceous sandstone in Kameoka Formation, Sendai Group. Formed in the early Pliocene (5 Ma).
Beta-quartz from this location was described in 1916.
