  • [ Etymology ] Vernon Orlando Bailey (1864 - 1942), a naturalist.
  • Larger plants distributed from southern Mexico to Nicaragua are separated as Tillandsia pseudobaileyi. The foliage is smaller than Tillandsia pseudobaileyi, and it has much more trichomes on the surface.
  • Forms a large clump by producing many offsets at the bottom of the foliage.
