Tetrahedrite
Kamibishi, Hishi village, Kiryu city, Gunma pref., Japan
Field of view: 5 mm. Tetrahedrite associated with tephroite. The small shinin triangle is a tetrahedral crystal of tetrahedrite. The surrounding massive grayish-brown host is aggregate of fine tephroite crystals.
Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels facies contact metamorphism.
Tetrahedrite from this location was described in 1980.
