Field of view: 3 mm. Pyrophanite associated with rhodonite. The group of tabular black crystals is pyrophanite. The transparent parts with a vitreous luster are quartz, and the massive pink parts are rhodonite.
Recovered from a bedded manganese deposit in pelitic schist subjected to Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granodiorite.
Pyrophanite from this location was described in 1960.
