Nagashimalite

Field of view: 5 mm. Nagashimalite associated with rhodonite. The dark green grains are probably nagashimalite. The surrounding pale pink parts partly exhibiting cleavage are rhodonite.

Recovered from a chert-hosted bedded manganese deposit subjected to Albite-Epidote-hornfels contact metamorphism.

The first nagashimalite in the world was described from this location in 1980.
