Field of view: 30 mm. Massive montebrasite. The rough massive white part notched by weathering at the center is montebrasite. The surrounding massive translucent white parts are quartz. The white part exhibiting perfect cleavage at the lower left is albite.
Recovered from a spodumene subtype rare-element pegmatite in S-type (Ilmenite-series) granite. Formed in the Late Cretaceous (100 Ma).
Montebrasite from this location was described in 1977.
