Field of view: 10 mm. Datolite associated with prehnite. The translucent white parts are datolite exphibiting no cleavage. The pale green parts at the bottom and at the upper right are prehnite.
Recovered from a prehnite-calcite vein in basaltic-andesitic hyaloclastite subjected to Prehnite-Pumpellyite facies metamorphism. Formed in the middle Miocene (12 Ma).
Datolite from this location was described in 1982.
