Cummingtonite
Motoisago, Kawasaki city, Shibata county, Miyagi pref., Japan

Field of view: 30 mm. Cummingtonite associated with quartz. The tabular dark brown crystals are cummingtonite. The translucent colorless parts around cummingtonite are granular quartz.
Recovered from an accidental lithic fragment subjected to hornblende-hornfels facies contact metamorphism. Formed in the Late Pleistoene (70 ka).
Cummingtonite from this location was described in 1985.
