Chrysocolla

Field of view: 5 mm. Massive chrysocolla. The pale blue parts with a vitreous luster are amorphous chrysocolla. The light brown host is quartz encrusted with limonite.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) quartz porphyry.
