Chrysocolla

Field of view: 30 mm. Chrysocolla associated with limonite. The botryoidal blue group is chrysocolla partly turned white by weathering. The brown basement is a limonite crust.
Recovered from a meteoric oxidation zone of a pneumatolytic deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of S-type (ilmenite-series) granite.
Chrysocolla from this location was described in 1909.
