Source for Chromium

Field of view: 10 mm. Single crystals of chromite. The octahedral black grains are cross sections of chromite. The yellowish-green host is weathered serpentinite.
Recovered from serpentinite of a Cr deposit associated with serpentinite in an accretionary complex subjected to Greenschist facies high-pressure metamorphism.
Chromite from this location was described in 1955.
