Field of view: 4 mm. A group of aurichalcite perched on quartz. The radial group of acicular pale blue crystals is aurichalcite. The translucent white basement is gangue quartz.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with andesite-basalte pyroclastic rocks of an oceanic arc subjected to propylitization alteration.
Aurichalcite from this location was described in 1971.
