Field of view: 20 mm. Atacamite formed by sublimation. The green crusts are aggregate of fine atacamite. The black basement is tholeiitic basalt with many vesicules.
Recovered from volcanic lapilli of a caldera in an oceanic arc. The lapilli was formed by AD 1777 - 1778 eruption of Miharayama Scoria Cone.
Atacamite from this location was described in 2005.
