Field of view: 10 mm. Annite associated with almandine. The trapezohedral red grains are almandine. The micaceous black crystals in the interstices of almandine are annite.
Recovered from skarn formed by contact metamorphism of S-type (ilmenite-series) granite of a caldera complex with a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with the same caldera complex.
Annite from this location was described in 1961 as biotite.
