- The plant resembles Tillandsia comarapaensis but the flower is white and the rosette tends to erect. The flowering period is approximately 2 weeks, quite shorter than that of Tillandsia comarapaensis which blooms for more than 8 months.
- Tillandsia barrosoae resembles Tillandsia didisticha but it is smaller and distributes different restricted region.
