Description of color

The observed color is described by CMYK value in this site.

Photographs do not necessarily reproduce the original color because of the lighting, the characters of the camera used and the monitor display. Thus CMYK value is used to describe more correct color by visual comparison to the color chert.

Used color chert:

COLOR CHART, DIC Corporation (2019)

Method:

The best fit color is specified by putting the object on the reference color of the color chert. The CMYK value of the best fit color is described.

As it is difficult to imagine the color from a CMYK value, an example color of the CMYK value is shown on pages. To display the color example on the page, it is necessary to convert the CMYK value to the RGB value but the RGB value corresponding to a CMYK value can not be decided on one by the followering reasons:

1. The CMYK value depends on the printing condition and printed paper.

2. The RGB value depends on the characters of the monitor display.

To reproduce the correct color as much as possible, the CMYK value is converted to a RGB value by the following condition.

CMYK value: JapanColor2011Coated

RGB value: sRGB

The displayed color example on the pages are an exmple of converted CMYK value, so you may feel clear differences from the original color. To check the observed color as correct as possible, please refer to the color chert.
