Field of view: 3 mm. A group of stilbite. The pointed tabular transparent crystals are stilbite. Stilbite crystals are vertical to the vein wall. The massive pale brown part at the lower right is the host basalt.
Recovered from an open space of a stilbite vein in basalt erupted from a submarine volcano. Formed in the early Miocene (16 Ma).
Stilbite from this location was described in 1962.
