Lignite

Width: 50 mm. A fragment of lignite. As lignit contains a lot of water, it had been dryed in the sunny place. Then it was shipped for cocking and fuel of boilers.

Recovered from a swamp deposit intercalated in the terrestrial alluvial fan deposit of Kazusa Group. Formed in late Pliocene - middle Pleistocene (3 - 2 Ma).
