Field of view: 5 mm. Helvine associated with rhodonite. The green triangle is a cross section of tetragonal helvine. The surrounding massive reddish-brown host is aggregate of rhodonite.
Recovered from a bedded manganese deposit subjected to Epidote-Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granite.
Helvine from this location was described in 1975.
