Ferrimolybdite

Field of view: 5 mm. Ferrimolybdite associated with molybdenite. The dark gray basement is the (001) cleavage face of molybdenite. The acicular pale yellow crystals on the cleavage face are ferrimolybdite.
Recovered from a meteoric oxidation zone of a pneumatolytic deposit in I-type (Magnetite-series) granite.
