Dumortierite

Field of view: 30 mm. Dumortierite associated with pyrophyllite. The massive blue parts are aggregate of fine fibrous dumortierite. The massive white host is aggregate of fine pyrophyllite crystals.
Recovered from a pyrophyllite deposit formed by hydrothermal alteration of rhyolite.
Dumortierite from this location was described in 1982.
