Covellite

Field of view: 100 mm. A very thin crust of covellite. The blue crust on the surface is covellite. The basement is composed of massive black sphalerite with minor amount of yellow pyrite and chalcopyrite.
Recovered from a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) quartz porphyry.
